The New Naloxone!

As of January 2017, Sanguen will no longer be providing the injectable form of naloxone/narcan. Instead, we are thrilled to be able to offer the more effective and much easier-to-use intranasal form!

The intransal naloxone is available through Sanguen for free to people who use opioids –  and anyone who is concerned about opioid overdose in a friend or family member.

We are pleased to provide individual and group training to help you prevent overdose, recognize when an overdose is happening, and to feel comfortable administering naloxone in an emergency.  We are also happy to train staff at agencies and local community groups.

In Guelph, please contact Rachel for more information.

In Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge, please contact Violet.

Training is also available on The Van on Thursday nights in Kitchener and Friday nights in Cambridge.

The injectable form of naloxone will continue to be available for free at many local pharmacies – you will need to present a health card. In Waterloo region, a pdf list of participating pharmacies is available here.

This is just…wow. FANTASTIC! Proud and diligent supporter of all the excellent work, the tough conversations you probably face, and the advocacy you help bring to the larger community.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. You’ve just made the uncomfortable adjustment some people face, a great deal more comfortable and easy to adjust to. This is just…wow. Positivity and forward motion at it’s finest. Giant thumbs up.
